Rathen loped easily over the vast, grassy plains. Birds of the prairie let out calls of alarm as the dark canine approached them. The golden grass made him stick out and it was almost impossible for him to sneak up on anything out here. But that hardy over bothered him. Only in battles did he hate this fact. The male skidded to a halt as the town loomed before him. From here he could hear merchants calling to one another and see flashes of different colored pelts as the wolves went about their day. Dusk was slowly falling over the land and most were packing up market stalls but others lingered to talk to one another.
Rathen drank the sight in with a slightly tilted head. This was his pack. His wolves.. Having been a loner for most of his life, Rathen enjoyed feeling this much apart of something. He felt like he could do anything with these wolves behind him. He shook his dark head and continued on at a faster run, eager to join them.

The Mexican bred lass treaded lightly along the field of golden grasses, that easily rustled along her stomach's fur as she glided across the terrain. Adira, however, drew to an abrupt halt toward the distant echos of voices that stretched across the horizon line. She gave her snout a brief tilt, her eyes sweeping along the area before her. Lowering her ears slightly, Adira began onward, toward the distant voices, and as she did so- what looked to have been a town stood before her. Now, she was puzzled. A town?
The scent of an unfamiliar canine seized her attention as Adira lowered her flared snout, pointing it toward a pigmented black wolf, whom seemed to be entering the town. Instead of immediately giving her position away to him, she awaited to see if he would notice her first. ____________________

Rathen abruptly raised his muzzle to scent the air. He had thought... The black male turned slowly to face the prairie he had just emerged from and took another deep breathe. Yes the scent was stronger now. It was that of another wolf... The Supreme's eyes narrowed as he scanned the land before him with an organized sweep. There! She stood quite a ways in the prairie, her gaze fixated on him. Rathen immediately started towards the stranger, with out a seconds pause. What if she came from the humans? He had to get to her before another from his pack did.
His long, dark limbs ate up the distance quickly so that he stood before her in just moments. They were about the same size in length but the male stood over the fae. Rathen lowered his muzzle slightly to better view her from his heightened stature, his tail raised dominantly. "You are intruding on Enigma lands. State your purpose." Rathen said with a stone cold edge to his voice. If she was a spy she had to be dealt with.. And quickly..

Adira paused, instinctively maneuvering her posture into a defensive state as the black male noted her, and rushed toward her in a second's spare. She glared at him, as he did her. Her tail leveled itself with her spine as she lowered her skull to spine level, ears low. "You are intruding on Enigma lands. State your purpose." The male spoke harshly toward the female. Adira lifted her stance, unimpressed by his forceful statement. She ascended her snout and lowered herself atop her haunches; in a seated position. "Hmm.. I guess it would be rude of me if I didn't introduce myself..." The Warrior spoke, her intimidating glare staring past the pigmented canine. "I am Adira. A supposed rogue of these lands. And have I never ventured beyond the forestry's treelining... until now." She paused briefly, allowing her words to register before continuing. "I've been departed from my previous pack for quite some time, and I have decided I should finally settle down into a new one, and add my skills into something useful for a change."

The Dark male regarded the newcomer with a slightly less hostile posture as she spoke her piece. So... She was looking for a pack..? Rathen was rather annoyed by how she seemed to be taking this so easily but he didn't want to push away a possible member. He was not a violent or cocky wolf that demanded submission but he did hate it when wolves didn't show the proper respect. Rathen forced himself to shake of the displeasure he was feeling as he questioned the stranger farther. "Were you sent?" He asked in a less harsh tone but still with a hint of sharpness. He would judge her reaction to at his words to see if she was a spy. If she was confused he would consider her joining if she wanted to.
If she showed surprise or any hint of knowing.. Well.. He had to protect his pack.

"Were you sent?"
The question silenced Adira. Sent? Sent by who? She inquired herself. What kind of organization was this male ruling? With her gaze focusing back onto the wolf, she finally spoke. "I... I do not understand by what you mean..." The lass responded with, confusion vividly clouding her eyes. What does this male take me for? An emissary? "I simply wish to conjoin with a pack whom are willing to accept members... nothing more." Adira confessed, lifting atop her paws and seizing a step or two back. "Have I come to the wrong place?" ____________________

Rathen couldn't help but let out a small breathe of relief as Adira reacted with confusion at his inquire. She now seemed far more uncertain and maybe even a bit fearful. The male's gaze softened slightly as he tilted his head at her. "You have come to the right place." Rathen said with a small laugh that hinted at his warmer personality. "We are accepting members and would be glad to have you join our ranks if you so desire. I just had to be sure..." Rathen trailed off not wanting to further confuse her with talk of spies and humans.
"So.. Would you like to join us or would you like to carry on as nomad in one of the most dangerous places you could possibly find?" The dark male asked, tossing his head back to indicate the town when he spoke of 'us'. Rathen fixed his piercing eyes on the fae as he awaited her response.

Sure? Sure of what? Adira proceeded to inquire herself, however paid less attention toward her thoughts, brimful of questions. She nodded at the male, indicating she would like to conjoin in their ranks. "Of course. But first, I'd like to know who you are." She said, extending a forepaw out, seizing a step forward. ____________________

Rathen regarded her with a calm stare. If she was joining she would find out soon enough who he was. Might as well tell her now. "My name is Rathen and I am one of the two Supremes of this pack." He stated in a breezy fashion is if he didn't care to much about introductions. He regarded her for another minute, letting the silence stretch as he observed her. She was obviously a warrior type but she could probably bring down a deer with some backup.
Finally Rathen turned away and started heading towards town at a lope. "Follow me." He called over his shoulder without looking back to see if she was following.

Rathen kept up a steady pace the whole way back to town, his long legs eating up the distance quickly. In no time at all they had arrived at the first buildings of the town. Rathen glanced over his shoulder to catch Adura's response to the still busy market square. It was a very new aspect for many and it was quite a sight to see. Wolves wearing brightly colored feathers whisking about the wooden stalls as merchants called out.
Rathen smiled and asked, "What do you think?"

"What do you think?"
Adira glimpsed about the area. Wolves were everywhere. The lass' ears flinched toward her surroundings; it was like nothing she'd ever seen. However, drawing her focus off of the canines around her with flashy items, she focused herself back on Rathen. "I've never seen anything like it. I've been more of a 'forestry wolf.' But truthfully- I love it!" Adira spoke, light, almost unnoticeable hints of sarcasm laced her words. With her snout was pointed in a downward position whilst her eyes were on the pigmented wolf, she awaited his retort. ____________________

Rathen caught the hint of sarcasm in her voice and tilted his head slightly. A dark smile was slowly forming on his features. The effect was rather unnerving as it turned him from warm to cold and dark with a single look.
"It is rather a lot to take in. Especially for a wolf like you." The male drawled lazily as he fixed his golden stare on the female. His tone had been dripping with sarcasm and he had implied that they were not the same. She was a nomad and he a leader of a pack.

"It is rather a lot to take in. Especially for a wolf like you."
The female dropped her head, and couldn't resist a muffled laugh at the male's response. "Only a wolf like me would have some sense as to how life works. Unlike you wolves who wish to be like humans. Like c'mon! Where's your taste for the natural world? Where's your taste for life? Hey wait- do you wolves even have a life in this condition?" Adira confessed, giving Rathen a confident smirk. ____________________

Rathen just laughed breezily at her response. How ignorant. The dark male smiled down at Adira and tossed his head back at the prairie. "Since you dislike it so much, why not start walking back the way you came. I'm sure I can have some Lieutenants chase you out even if you would prefer exiting with style." Rathen replied scornfully with a hint of cold laughter.

Adira huffed toward his remark. She maneuvered herself in front of the coal black male before speaking. "You wolves just don't seem to listen, do you? I said I'd enjoy living- or at least try a new lifestyle. You even stated yourself you'd being willing new ranked members, didn't you? So caught up in your own head - have you any idea how life works, anymore?" She questioned, glaring at Rathen, a cross between sarcasm and a highlight of seriousness portrayed across her features. ____________________

Rathen couldn't help but laugh at this. "We are only caught up in our heads because we actually have them. Unlike some wolves I know.." The dark wolf retorted as he began to walk towards the park. He passed through the market without even checking to see if Adira was following. She either would or she wouldn't. If she didn't the Lieutenants would chase her out later.

Adira offered another chuckle before remarking. "The only thing you know about me is my name. Now, if you will- quit being so wrapped up in that big head of yours and actually show me around for once. Unless you think us woodland wolves are just too much of omegas to do so..." Adira could have shot herself for speaking that, but what other option could she possibly have at this point? ____________________

Rathen couldn't help but grin at Adira's response. He let out a small good natured laugh as he shook his dark head. She had guts, he had to give her that. "Why don't you just stop trying to insult me before you embarrass yourself further, Omega." Rathen replied with a breezy laugh, but is humor was quick to disappear as they reached the far edge of the market.
The dark canine turned to face the newcomer entirely, his body blocking the way ahead and the wolves of his pack blocking her rear. She had no where to go. His golden eyes intimidating on their intensity. Rathen had gone from bantering with her to dark and sinister in just seconds. She had reacted with confusion to his inquiry about the spies. But it was still a custom to have new wolves go through an interigation before they were allowed to wander. Might as well make sure she was sure she wanted to go through it.

"Who said I was trying, oh wise one?" However, she quickly silenced herself as he turned himself, utterly blocking the next entry. She glared at Rathen with her amber gaze, ears gradually lowering. What's happening, now? She barked at herself, sweeping her surroundings with her piercing glare. "What's going on?" Adira questioned, her snout pointing beyond the pigmented male as her tail flinched briefly.

Rathen sized the female up, his tail swishing behind him in a slow, hypnotic rhythm. After a moments consideration, the male started to circle her slowly. He made a full turn before stopping at her right shoulder. The chip implanted was not usually visible but it was still helpful to check. Finally after a long while, the Dark canine came to a halt before the Fae, his golden eyes piercing and intense.
"Are you sure you wish to join us? You will have to go through an interigation to make sure you aren't a spy. The process doesn't take too long. If you want to back out now... Well it might not be impossible now that you have seen our town."
Rathen didn't want to be too harsh on her but he had to make sure she knew what was at stake. It would be good if she was nervous or scared, meant she was actually taking this seriously. "So, what do you say?"

She inquired rather quickly, her ears swiveling ever so leisurely as her tail vividly flinched. However, she took it rather calmly this time; instead of 'overrating' such as last time. "There you are Rathen! I've been looking everywhere for you!" May said with an excited smile on her face as she walked over to Rathen in a happy manner. She made sure not to mention the reason why it took so long for her to find him was because she took several detours. From her peripheral vision, May spotted a female wolf with a thick coat. It was someone she didn't recognize a new recruit maybe? May gave the stranger a warm smile. "Hello! I'm guessing you're a new recruit here. I'm May, one of the two Supremes of the pack. Are you enjoying it here so far?" May asked with genuine curiosity. Although from the tense air she walked in on, she guessed Rathen was probably in the middle of intimidating the poor wolf. Since May wasn't much for intimidating, Rathen always took the role. Sometimes, it made her feel guilty since not many people know he's actually really kind.

Adira's gaze swiftly landed on another fae who entered the room. She was coated in grey and silvers and held a confident gait. Her gaze tilted itself briefly as to how welcoming she appeared. "I... why I am enjoying it," she responded with, though, her words were genuine, yet lightly laced with sarcasm. "Uh.. is Rathen always so... headstrong?" She questioned in a teaseful manner, offering the other fae a brief smile. "Him and I kind of had a sarcasm backtalk spree awhile back and I am just ensuring this was normal for him..." Adira gave another relaxed chuckle, however anticipated she didn't offend the male or other female in any form.

May chuckled at the fae's sarcasm. "I'm glad you have a sense of humor. It's something most members lack these days around superiors. You could say Rathen is head strong, but he has his own soft side," May said with a playful grin and bumped Rathen's shoulder playfully. "As for the sarcastic spree, just take it as his very own Welcome to Enigma." May chuckled inwardly and glanced over at Rathen. She didn't want to belittle Rathen in front of the fae so she made sure to choose her words carefully. She may be close and familiar with him in private, but it'd be disrespectful to humiliate him in front of his peers. That and she didn't want to throw a rock in a glass house. "By the way, I never caught your name?" May asked curious about her new pack member.

"By the way, I never caught your name?" She then said. Adira's ears lifted themselves. "Oh, how rude of me- my name is Adira and I am quite interested on joining this... odd looking establishment." Adira paused her sentence, allowing her words to register. "I uh... apologize for my inexperience with these kinds of things; considering I have always been a forestry wolf, these more civilized areas are perplexing to me." ____________________

May gave a devilish smile and responded, "Don't worry, you're not the only one. I've never really gotten used to all of this myself. Little old Rathen here is the one who persuaded me to join. Before that, I had been a nomad practically my whole life! If you ever need any form of comfort, you're always welcome to visit the forest or the park. Although the park might be a little noisy for you..." May said the last sentence looking a bit perplexed. She had forgotten how some wolves were born and raised in the forest. She had traveled around so much that she became almost immune to anything new so she forgot how it might be a little difficult for forest wolves to cope. She wondered if maybe Adira felt at lost.

A lone figure walked through the dead vegetation that seemed to go on for miles. Years of heat and dry weather seemed to contribute to the ugly color. Or perhaps it was just nearing the season of change. Whatever it was, it's brassy tones caused the small white wolf to stand out like a sore thumb. Nova didn't mind the heat, what she did mind was walking openly with no place to hide herself. Then again she couldn't really think of anything capable to camouflaging itself in these types of lands... except for small creatures that were already difficult enough to find in forests. That thought alone made her grumble grumpily, her last meal was not too long ago, but it had been a pain trying to catch it. She didn't even remember how she got to this part of the world. How long had she been wandering for? It couldn't have been too long, the memory of her brother leaving was still fresh in her mind. The pain in her chest was still there when she thought of her family. At this point the little wolf felt homesick, she hadn't found any signs of life so far in this wasteland of grassy death and it didn't seem like she would anytime soon. 'Now you're just being dramatic' she huffed to herself feeling quite dramatic now. She stopped in her tracks and did a spin, scanning for anything worthy of her attention. Overhead, a bird of prey cawed. Nova looked up and narrowed her eyes. "Not today buddy, definitely not today." she growled out and trudged on. After about an hour, something did finally come up. It was faint but there, and she was beginning to pick up faint scents. There were multiple, and she couldn't quite say how many different ones exactly. Nova's pale eyes light up with excitement, the thought of others nearby erased any homesickness she felt. As she neared closer, the scents grew stronger, and something of a town grew more distinct. Unease settled into the pit of her stomach and she slowed her pace in caution. Nova didn't go to the town, instead she followed the scents. In the distance 3 figures emerged. The small female slowly approached, her ears perked up as she caught their voices. Nova stopped stood still a bit of a distance away from the 3. "Hello, I'm sorry for wandering into what I believe is your land, but I was wondering if this was a pack? If it is, might I join?" she called out. It may have been foolish and odd she got straight to the point of being here without an invitation, but she was tired of wandering. Mentioned: May, Adira, Rathen Addressed: May, Adira, Rathen

Head strong? Head Strong! I'm not Head Strong.. Rathen grumbled silently as he listened to the conversation still occurring between the two females. As Adira finished introducing herself Rathen had to bite down on his tongue to stop the sarcastic retort from emerging. It would just start another 'fight' and then where would they get? "Well our civilization requires all newcomers go through an interrogation." The dark canine stated with a pointed look at May. He was itching to get this over with so he could get to back to his room. A very pressing report awaited his attention there. "So if we could get that over with.." He trailed off as his gaze flew to the nearby jailhouse where most interrogations took place.
He tilted his dark head slightly as his gaze wandered back to the two females as he awaited a response. Suddenly a new voice reached his erect ears. The canine spun quickly to face the vast expanse of prairie that lay behind them. A small white female had appeared. Rathen glanced at May. Should she respond or should he?

May held back a grin at Rathen's obvious impatience. It is true that the interrogation was customary... ""Hello, I'm sorry for wandering into what I believe is your land, but I was wondering if this was a pack? If it is, might I join?" a white wolf spoke. May turned her head at the fae and smiled. "Hello! Um... Just give us a second. If you want to join the pack you'll have to go through an interrogation like Adira. It's just customary, don't worry about it." May tried to give her a reassuring smile but how in the world do you make an interrogation sound reassuring? May looked at Rathen sending him a silent message (glare): Don't be too harsh.
